Music Notes

A life of listening, recalled and recorded. Digging up each year of my life, I inked all the albums, songs and musical memories, spanning back to my birth year, 1975. For me, memories are very connected to music and by recording what I was listening to in each year cements the moments for later enjoyment. This took over four months of diving into recollections of flatmates, different houses, streets and neighbourhood, loves, travel, friends, children, good times and painful times. I can see connections of certain music that stands years of time, sometimes reappearing in another decade. And the influences of meeting my husband, a huge Radiohead fan!

This project was two large works on paper, created for Backburner exhibition at MAC in Moonah, Southern Tasmania.
